1.0 Welcome

Welcome to the CA Embedded Entitlements Manager (CA EEM) Readme. This Readme contains issues and other information discovered after publication. For a complete list of the known issues for this release and details about how the features and enhancements for this release might affect you, see the Release Notes.


2.0 Fixed Issues List

The following issues are fixed in this release:

18845195 Authorization requests fail randomly in the CA EEM SDK.
18587970 If a user is added to a policy of the Identity Access Control List policy type, the CA EEM browser becomes unresponsive.
18725325 Memory leaks when the CA EEM SDK processes many authorization requests with the CA EEM Server connected to an LDAP directory containing large number of users.
18765252 When CA EEM is installed in a drive other than the C drive, the CALM application registration fails.
18769599 Unable to create a policy where the Action names contain single quotes.

The following error is recorded in the eiaminstall.log during the CA EEM Server installation:

ERROR: iGateway service failed to start. Error code is 2 in EEM install logs

18907864 The CA Directory folder is not removed when the CA EEM Server is uninstalled.
19016515 The CA EEM SDK memory usage is high during event processing due to insufficient permissions of the lck files.
19085917 The CA EEM SDK creates multiple SAF and IDX files.

19113434 The CA EEM C++ SDK causes memory leak.
19117104 When installing the CA EEM Server on double byte language operating systems, the images on the Welcome and Finish screen are truncated.
19120148 The CA EEM Server installation fails on Window 2008.
19159678 The CA EEM SDK causes file handle leaks during SAF file processing.
19169205 When searching for users, the CA EEM Server CPU usage is high if there are duplicate users in the LDAP directory.
19178292 The process to back up and restore CA EEM in the Getting Started Guide is inaccurate.
19182907 When the CA EEM login session times out, the CA EEM login page is displayed in a frame within the existing GUI.
19196437 NTLM authentication fails.
19234589 CA EEM C++ SDK built with Visual Studio 2005 SP1 is dependent on Visual Studio 2005 libraries.
19284739 The Safex XML does not support encrypted passwords.
19292941 Search for global users based on global user groups fails.
19302947 The CA EEM Server install response file does not support encrypted passwords.
19372605 The registerApplicationInstance API generates run-time errors.


3.0 New Features

The following topic explains the new features in this release of CA EEM.

3.1 Support for Munged Password

When you create a response file using the CA EEM installer, the EiamAdmin user password is munged and is written to the response file. If you want to munge an existing clear text password, navigate to the iTechnology folder from the command line, and run the following command:

The munged password is displayed on the console.


4.0 Changes to Existing Features

The following topic explains the changes to existing CA EEM features.

4.1 Location of eiaminstall.log and eiam-calm-install.log files

Valid on Windows

If the CA EEM Server installation is successful, the eiaminstall.log and the eiam-calm-install.log files are stored in the CA EEM install folder. During installation or installation failure, these logs are stored in the %TEMP% folder.
